President Volodymyr Zelensky commented on the destruction of five Russian planes within a week. In his evening video address, he emphasized that the Ukrainian air defense will only strengthen, so Russian pilots must decide whether it is worth continuing to fight against Ukraine.
The President stressed that on December 24, on the evening before Christmas, Ukrainian soldiers shot down nearly 30 ‘shaheeds,’ several missiles, and two more Russian military aircraft.
“For one evening! In total, five ‘Sushki’ were shot down in the week before Christmas. And this is very strong <…> Every Russian pilot must make a clear choice for himself, whether to continue participating in this war. Our air defense will only become stronger, especially when we receive additional systems, which are already agreed upon, and F-16,” said Zelensky.
He thanked the anti-aircraft gunners, mobile fire groups, and air defense units of the Ground Forces for these results.
