Zaluzhnyi stated that he is not afraid of a nuclear threat; he has other fears

Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, Valeriy Zaluzhnyi, stated in an interview with The Washington Post that he is not afraid of the possibility of a Russian terrorist attack on the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) with a radiation release. He believes that it will not hinder the Ukrainian army from regaining control of the plant during a counteroffensive.

In response to the question of whether the potential nuclear threat would hinder the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ attempts to regain control over the temporarily occupied Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant by Russia, the Commander-in-Chief stated, ‘It doesn’t stop me at all’.

“We are doing our job. All these signals about fearing a nuclear strike somehow come from the outside. Well, should we be scared?” – said he .

On June 22, President Zelensky stated that Ukrainian intelligence had received information that Russia is considering a terrorist attack on the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant.

At the same time, Zaluzhnyi stated that he has ‘many other fears,’ among which is the Wagner terrorist group.”

“And not only them (‘Wagnerians,’ – Ed.). If we start talking about it now, my head will start spinning,” he explained.

According to Zaluzhnyi, the Ukrainian Armed Forces need to prepare for the worst and possible scenarios. This, according to him, is their main objective.
