As reported by anonymous sources of the publication, Surovikin is currently being held and interrogated in Moscow, although formal charges have not yet been filed against him. There is also information indicating that the Russian general was aware of Prigozhin’s intention to move on Moscow but was not directly involved in the coup attempt by the Wagner Group.

According to insiders, in addition to Surovikin, at least 13 senior officers were detained for questioning. Some were later released, but nearly 15 were either suspended from duty or dismissed. These arrests are part of a purge targeting those who, according to sources, are no longer deemed trustworthy,” explains an anonymous source.

Journalists note that Surovikin was not held in a detention facility but underwent multiple interrogations. According to preliminary information, he may be released if the Russian dictator decides how to deal with the aftermath of the coup attempt.
