Any country that provides assistance to Russia in the war against Ukraine becomes an accomplice of aggression and a violator of international law. This is not in China’s interests.
President of France, Emmanuel Macron, said this during a conversation with journalists at the French embassy in Beijing.
“From the very beginning of the conflict, we have decided to assist the victim (of unprovoked aggression), and we have also made it clear that anyone who assists the aggressor (Russia) will be an accomplice in the violation of international law,” Macron said.
He added that “it is not in Beijing’s interest to provide weapons to Russia for the war against Ukraine”.
“The prolonged war is not in China’s interest,” added the President of France.
NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg stated that any supply of lethal weapons of Chinese production to support Russia in the war against Ukraine would be a grave mistake that could undermine global stability and security.
