What is known about the decision regarding Ukraine at the NATO Summit in Vilnius?

“During the summit, the allies will adopt a multi-year assistance package that will bring Ukraine in line with NATO standards,” the head of the Alliance stated.

He emphasized that as a result of this, Ukrainian military personnel will be able to transition from an army based on the old Soviet model to a modern military force that operates according to NATO standards. He also mentioned the progress of Ukrainian forces on the front line in this context.

“We see Ukraine reclaiming territory after months of training and equipping its army. However, the terrain is challenging, and the Russian army has established strong defensive positions, including minefields and anti-tank barriers. Ukrainians face difficulties in advancing, which is why support is so crucial,” emphasized Stoltenberg.

The NASAMS air defense system will provide security for the NATO Summit in Vilnius

Spain will deploy the NASAMS surface-to-air missile system from the Lielvārde military base in Latvia to Vilnius during the NATO Summit on July 11-12. To ensure the security of the Alliance Summit, approximately 85 Spanish military personnel will also be deployed from Latvia to Lithuania.

Sources from military circles in Spain have indicated that this contribution to the summit’s defense demonstrates the country’s reliability, compatibility with other NATO systems, and their dedication to the Alliance.

Meanwhile, the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Rishi Sunak, announced a decision to provide Ukraine with financial assistance in the amount of 3 billion dollars over the next three years.

“Over the course of three years, we will provide credit guarantees in the amount of 3 billion dollars. We are also launching a new British-Ukrainian tech bridge to facilitate investments and talent, as well as support for green energy and much more. All of this is part of the tremendous collective efforts of allies and partners from around the world, including significant new support from the EU, which will also be announced this week,” stated Sunak.

Sunak emphasized the importance of building a business platform that can attract the innovation and investment that Ukraine needs.

“That is why we are launching the Ukrainian Business Compact, enabling the private sector to pledge its support for Ukraine’s recovery and reconstruction,” emphasized the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.
