Currently, there’s no sense in discussing the quantity of Western fighter jets that Ukraine will receive from its partners, because the announced number is already sufficient, and this number will increase. This was stated by the Minister of Defense, Oleksiy Reznikov, during a briefing with his Bulgarian counterpart, Todor Tagarev, during his visit to Ukraine.

Reznikov noted that important news has emerged in recent days, the first of which is that the United States has officially granted permission to Denmark and the Netherlands not only for training Ukrainian military pilots on the F-16 but also for future supplies. The second news is the announcement by these countries of a certain number of aircraft they are prepared to transfer.

“But I would suggest not fixating on this number, as it’s just the beginning. I want to remind you that 11 countries joined the so-called aircraft coalition in Vilnius… But this coalition is growing; it’s open for new members, and I know for sure that there are several countries ready to do so. They are in the process of obtaining political approvals from their parliaments, and government decisions will follow. It will be announced a bit later,” said the Minister.

He also emphasized that this coalition includes countries that don’t possess F-16s, but they intend to assist Ukraine with training, infrastructure preparation, and other aspects.
