President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed participants of the 21st “Rammstein” format meeting, stating that the role of allies in the war with Russia is crucial. The head of state outlined three main needs that are currently necessary for the Ukrainian army to continue the fight.
Zelensky informed allies that Ukraine currently needs long-range weapons, air defense systems, and artillery.
“This year, the Russians have used about 9,000 guided aviation bombs against Ukraine. And we need to shoot down their combat aircraft so that they do not approach our positions and borders. We urgently need Patriot systems and missiles for them, because this is what can save lives now,” the president noted.
“At least seven Patriot systems are needed for Ukraine to protect the large cities of the country. These systems are available to allies, and they can change the situation for the better”, he pointed out.
As the president noted, during the six months that the Defense Forces waited for assistance from the United States, the Russian army showed initiative on the battlefield, and now Ukraine cannot stabilize the front line and actively advance further towards victory.
“Dear friends, please do not forget that you are deciding. You are determining the fate of the entire world,” Zelensky added.
