The Air Defense Forces have successfully intercepted seven out of ten ‘Kalibr’ cruise missiles launched by Russians onto Ukraine during the night. There were hits on a residential building and a critical infrastructure object in Lviv, as reported by the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
On the night of July 6, at around 01:00, Russian invaders launched an attack with ‘Kalibr’ missiles from the Black Sea waters.
According to military sources, multiple groups of missiles were detected initially heading in a northern direction, utilizing the terrain features and the Dnipro riverbed, and then abruptly changing course towards the west.
The Ukrainian aviation and air defense forces successfully intercepted seven out of ten missiles that the Russians intended to strike Ukraine with.
Local authorities in Lviv and the Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that as a result of a direct hit on a residential building, four individuals were killed, and 32 others, including a child, were injured.
According to the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Igor Klymenko, the third and fourth floors of two entrances have been destroyed.
The search and rescue operation is ongoing.
