In Bakhmut, the enemy has adopted a “Syrian” tactic of scorched earth, according to Syrsky

Fierce battles continue for Bakhmut. The Russian occupation forces, exhausted by the Ukrainian Defense Forces, have adopted a scenario that Russia used in Syria. This is the tactic of scorched earth.

Such an assessment of the situation in the city was given by the commander of the Ground Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrsky. As reported by the Ministry of Defense media center, he visited Ukrainian positions on the Bakhmut direction the day before.”

“The fighting has a tough nature on both sides. The enemy has resorted to the so-called “Syrian” tactic of scorched earth, destroying buildings and positions with airstrikes and artillery fire. The defense of Bakhmut continues. “The situation is difficult, but under control” -commented Syrsky.

As reported by the Commander of the Ground Forces, the enemy is forced to involve special forces and assault units in the battle for Bakhmut. He added that the occupiers are destroying buildings and positions with airstrikes and artillery fire.

It is worth noting that the day before, the spokesperson of the Eastern grouping of Ukrainian Armed Forces, Sergiy Cherevatyi, stated that the Russians are throwing paratroopers into battle for Bakhmut not to strengthen their position.

The military leadership was forced to take this step due to significant losses among the “Wagner Group” fighters. According to rough estimates, the occupiers lose about a hundred people daily in Bakhmut.

Soldier-grenadier of the 5th separate assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Yuri “Mamay” Syrotiuk, stated that the occupying army not only failed to take control of Bakhmut, but also failed to prevent the supply of weapons to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. The way to the city is open, and there is no talk of the siege of Bakhmut.

As “We-Ukraine” previously reported, over the last week, Russian forces have intensified their tank attacks around the city of Mariinka in the Donetsk region. It is located 20 km southwest of Donetsk.
