Syrsky stated that the Defense Forces are inflicting serious losses on the Russians in the direction of Kupiansk.
“Russia has been attempting to block Kupiansk since October 2023, but the Defense Forces are destroying the offensive potential of the occupiers”. This was reported by the commander of the Ground Forces, Oleksandr Syrsky, in a comment to Interfax-Ukraine.
According to him, the Russians are trying to break through the Ukrainian defense and advance towards Kupiansk, and the situation remains challenging.
He noted that the intensification of hostilities in this area began back in October 2023.
“Since then, there has been relentless fighting in this area. The enemy storms settlements daily, shelling them with artillery, and using aviation. Currently, assaults on our positions are taking place in the Sinkyvka area with the aim of further blocking Kupiansk,” Syrsky said.
The military commander emphasized that local commanders and staff are well aware of the situation, conducting constant reconnaissance, analyzing the actions of the Russian army, and making necessary decisions.
“Our soldiers provide an adequate response to the enemy and disrupt its plans. Escalations in this direction are constant, but the Defense Forces manage to destroy the enemy’s offensive potential and inflict significant losses,” concluded the general.
