The Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, informed about the advantages of the Ukrainian strike-reconnaissance UAV “Sich” and called on Ukrainians to contribute to the fundraising for these drones.
“The unmanned system ‘Sich’ has been used by us for quite a long time. It has proven itself to be a reliable and deadly weapon,” said the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate.
According to him, “Sich” is intended for pinpoint fire on targets such as armored vehicles, small fortifications, and enemy personnel groups.
” The more high-tech weapons, the fewer losses there will be. Grateful to everyone who contributes to speeding up our victory,” he added.
Ammunition Problem
The Estonian Ministry of Defense estimates that Russia can produce between 1 million and 4.5 million artillery shells per year.
At the same time, Western countries are rushing to increase their own ammunition production, and the United States plans to produce about 1 million shells annually by the end of 2025, up from the pre-war 190,000.
The EU’s promise to send a million shells by March was not fulfilled, possibly delivering only 300,000.
The United States may have sent 2 million 155mm shells since the war began, but these shipments have run out due to a political deadlock in Washington over military aid to Ukraine.
Currently, according to sources, instead of fighters or tanks, Kiev is requesting drones for reconnaissance and long-range strikes, as well as electronic warfare systems to jam Russian drones and ballistic missiles.
