During the 21st meeting in the “Rammstein” format, Minister of Defense of Canada Bill Blair announced that Canada will finance additional supplies of ammunition for Ukraine and the production of drones. This was reported by the department’s press service.
Blair informed that Canada is allocating 3 million Canadian dollars ($2.1 million) for the production of drones by the Ukrainian defense complex. The Canadian defense department emphasized that this is the first time the country is making a direct contribution to the production of military drones in Ukraine, and this donation will be made in cooperation with the United Kingdom.
Blair also confirmed that Canada is providing an additional contribution of approximately 13 million Canadian dollars ($9.5 million) to the Czech Republic’s initiative to purchase and deliver large-caliber ammunition for Ukraine.
Last month, Canada already announced its contribution to this initiative, and now the total amount from the country is over $38.7 million.
Additionally, Canada has decided to increase the number of SkyRanger drones for Ukraine. The Armed Forces of Ukraine will receive 900 drones – 100 more than previously planned.
