Canada has expanded sanctions against the Russian Federation, targeting suppliers of components for “Caliber” missiles

Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly announced new sanctions in connection with the second anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. This was reported on the official website of the country’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

“Today we are sending a clear message to Russian officials and the organizations they control: we support the people of Ukraine, who bravely defend their rights in the face of Putin’s unwarranted and aggressive actions,” said Joly.

As noted in the foreign policy department, Canada announced sanctions in coordination with the United States and the United Kingdom. They affect 10 individuals and 153 legal entities registered in Russia and Cyprus.

The sanctions list includes logistics companies, companies supplying components for “Caliber” missiles and drones, as well as those providing insurance, repair, and research services to the defense ministry of the aggressor state.

In addition, a ban on the export of goods to Russia that could be used to manufacture weapons and conduct war against Ukraine is being introduced. This includes explosives, detonators, including those used in the mining industry and construction.
