The RF continues to expend significant resources on the Donetsk front, particularly near Mar’inka and Avdiivka, with minimal results.
As reported by the “European Truth,” this is stated in an intelligence review by the British Ministry of Defense.
As stated in the agency, over the past seven days, Russia has likely increased the number of armored attacks in the area of the city of Mariinka in the Donetsk region, located 20 km southwest of Donetsk.
Fighting has been ongoing in Mariinka since 2014 and it has been significantly destroyed as a result of artillery shelling. The city provides control over approaches to Donetsk and the key N15 road.
“Russia continues to prioritize resource provision for operations in the wider Donetsk sector, including the areas of Marinka and Avdiivka, expending significant resources to achieve minimal results,” the review states.
In late March, British intelligence reported that Russian forces were experiencing significant losses in armored vehicles in their attempts to surround Avdiivka and had made little progress there.
