The missile attacks by Russia on Odessa and its region are an attempt to isolate Ukraine’s access to the Black Sea and prevent the restoration of the “grain corridor.” Oleksiy Danilov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, stated that Ukraine will respond appropriately to such intentions by Russia and will “fully” retaliate against the killings and destruction caused by the occupiers. He announced this on Facebook.
“The main goal of the Russian missile attacks on Odessa and the region is an attempt to completely isolate Ukraine’s access to the Black Sea and to preemptively deter and neutralize international efforts to restore the functioning of the “grain corridor,” Danilov wrote.
According to this plan, Russia intends to create artificial conditions of food insecurity primarily for African countries and increase the level of migration threats for Europe. Russia expects that such blackmail will “force” the West to engage in negotiations and accept the “grain ultimatum” of Russian dictator Vladimir Putin, Danilov writes.
In particular, the occupiers demand the restoration of Russian ammonia exports, the lifting of some sanctions, and other restrictions on Russia.
The destruction of Ukrainian infrastructure is intended to make the world dependent on Russian grain, their logistics, and capabilities, Danilov explained.
“The plan is to bring the world to its knees and make Russia a unique grain supplier. After the failure of the idea of an “energy superpower,” Putin wants to become a “grain super-empire,”” wrote the Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council.
According to him, Ukraine understands and is aware of such intentions from Russia, and the country will “properly” respond and “fully” retaliate to killings and destruction.
Danilov called on the world and the West to fully restore the operation of the Ukrainian “grain corridor” under the guarantee of international security.
