The Great Landing Ship “Caesar Kunikov” was in Ukrainian territorial waters near Crimea.
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine officially confirmed the destruction of the large landing ship “Caesar Kunikov” near the coast of temporarily occupied Crimea on February 14.
The military claim that the vessel was struck along with the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense.
It is noted that the ship was in Ukrainian territorial waters near Alupka.
“Caesar Kunikov” participated in Russia’s aggression against Georgia in August 2008. It was also used by the Russians to transport military cargoes to Syria. It was first hit by the Defense Forces on March 24, 2022, in Berdyansk, but the ship managed to survive and sail out to sea.
Recently, the Commander of the Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk, published a video of landing at the captured Russian Belbek airfield in temporarily occupied Crimea.
