The meeting, titled “Support for the Peace and Security of Ukraine,” is chaired by Brazil.

During the meeting, Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, referred to the terrorist attack in the village of Groza as a “legitimate target.”

“It is known that at the moment of the strike, a funeral of a high-ranking Ukrainian nationalist was taking place there. There were many henchmen of the Nazis. That’s why in the photos published after the strike, there are middle-aged men,” Nebeznya lied.

He continued, ‘The Kyiv regime accused us of shelling shops, hotels, and so on. And then there were many obituaries, including with foreign surnames. Maybe the same will happen with Groza.’

On October 5, Russian forces launched an Iskander missile at a cafe and shop in the village of Groza in the Kupiansk district of Kharkiv region.

During the shelling, a funeral for a deceased soldier was taking place inside the building.

There are reports of 52 casualties, including the widow and son of a soldier for whom the funeral was being held.

Dmytro Chubenko, the spokesperson for the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, noted that the Russians may have thought that Ukrainian soldiers would be in the cafe, but only civilians, mostly women, were present there.
