NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg stated that there is no evidence within the Alliance to suggest that the debris from drones in Romania was the result of a deliberate attack by Russia. He made this statement during his address to the European Parliament, as quoted by The Guardian.
According to him, NATO does not have information indicating a deliberate attack by Russia.
“We are awaiting the results of the ongoing investigation,” Stoltenberg said.
Earlier, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis denied the fall of Russian drones or debris on the country’s territory.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that on the night of September 4, Russian kamikaze drones Shahed-136 “fell and detonated in the area of the Izmail port in Romania.
