Zelensky discussed with Biden the plot involving Prigozhin and the threat to the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky discussed with world leaders the alarming situation created by Russian occupying forces at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, as well as the developments taking place in Russia. In particular, in the evening of June 25, the head of state held telephone conversations with U.S. President Joe Biden.

Conversation with Biden

According to Zelensky, the conversation with the head of the White House was “positive and inspiring”.

President Zelensky expressed his gratitude to the President of the United States for unwavering support of Ukraine, especially for the “Patriots.” He emphasized that it is crucial to strengthen Ukraine’s capabilities in defending our skies, and therefore, the President extended his gratitude to his American counterpart for supporting the coalition of fighters.

Zelensky is convinced that the United States and the American people are ready to stand shoulder to shoulder with Ukraine until all our territories are fully liberated within internationally recognized borders, for which he also thanked Biden. “They discussed further expansion of defense cooperation with a focus on long-range strike capabilities,” the head of state noted.

In addition, the state leaders coordinated their positions ahead of the Vilnius NATO Summit, discussed the continuation of work on implementing the Ukrainian peace formula, and preparations for the Global Peace Summit.

“The plan for the terrorist attack on the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant has been fully developed and approved. They may use technical means to accelerate the catastrophe,” reported Budanov.

As the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR) mentioned, the increase in voltage on the power lines of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant by the Russians can also lead to an accident. He also reminded about the mining of the Russian Federation’s Strategic Missile Forces’ cooling pond at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant and other facilities. Depending on the situation, nuclear reactors without cooling can melt down within a period of 10 hours to 14 days.

“The situation has never been as serious as it is now,” said the Major General. According to the Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense, the order from the aggressor state to carry out a terrorist act at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant could be triggered by the defeat of the invaders on the left bank of the Dnipro River. The creation of a zone of nuclear disaster by the Russian Federation is seen as a “preventive measure” against further advancement of the Ukrainian Defense Forces.

At the same time, according to Budanov’s assessment, there is a risk that the enemy may launch an attack on the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant with a radiation leak as a “preventive measure” to halt Ukraine’s offensive operation and freeze the front line in its current state.
