“No one wants to buy them.” Ukraine demonstrated the inefficiency of Russian air defense systems – Budanov

Chief of the Main Intelligence Directorate of Ukraine, Kirilo Budanov, stated that Ukraine is showing the obvious inadequacy of Russian air defense systems, which, in turn, makes them less favorable on the global arms market.

“Because when the whole world sees that some drones are attacking Moscow, no one wants to buy Russian air defense systems anymore,” he said in an interview with The War Zone.

According to Budanov, this is very painful for Russia.

“Because now the population of Russia, and especially the large Russian business, is starting to feel the real consequences of the war. Because before, the war was only on television. Yes, it had a certain financial effect for major players, but it didn’t even touch the small players,” he said.

The head of the Main Intelligence Directorate emphasized that demonstrative strikes, such as the ones on Moscow – in the area of skyscrapers – show everyone that it will now affect them too.

On Friday, September 22, the Ukrainian Armed Forces struck the headquarters of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Sevastopol.

According to Sky News, Ukraine used British Storm Shadow missiles for the attack. The Ukrainian military did not disclose the details of the attack, but the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force expressed gratitude to Ukrainian pilots after the strike.

The Russians reported one person as “missing” as a result of the attack. However, the head of the Main Intelligence Directorate, Kirilo Budanov, stated that at least nine people were killed, and another 16 were wounded.
