What will be included in the new aid package from Denmark?

The aid package includes anti-aircraft defense missiles and funds for the procurement of artillery ammunition.

The ministry notes that there is a demand for anti-aircraft defense missiles, other ammunition, and funds for joint EU procurement of artillery ammunition.

“It is absolutely crucial that we continue to support Ukraine. This is a significant and important contribution that we have gathered, among other things, based on Ukraine’s wishes and needs, and it should support Ukraine’s ongoing defense struggle against Russian forces,” said Acting Minister of Defense, Troels Lund Poulsen.

Denmark will continue to assist Ukraine

The total value of the donation package amounts to approximately 1.3 billion Danish kroner and is based on Ukraine’s needs and requests, dialogue with international partners, and military recommendations from the Ministry of Defense.

“Ukraine’s need for support remains significant. Today’s package sends an important signal that Denmark stands with Ukraine as much as necessary. I am glad that under the auspices of the EU, we jointly procure artillery ammunition and donate them to Ukraine, which is extremely necessary for Ukraine’s fight for freedom,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs, Lars Løkke Rasmussen.

Poulsen said that the package includes 300 million kroner for joint EU procurement of artillery ammunition for Ukraine.

“Unfortunately, it seems that the war is dragging on, and thanks to numerous donations, we and our allies are sending a strong signal that we support the Ukrainians in the long term,” says Troels Lund Poulsen.
