The world is paying insufficient attention to the threat of Russian sabotage at the temporarily occupied Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, despite the increasing reality of this threat. President Volodymyr Zelensky stated this in an evening video address.
“The situation at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant. The world’s attention to the existing Russian threat at the Zaporizhia plant is unfortunately insufficient. There was a lack of reaction to the Russian sabotage at the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Station and the deliberate attempt by Russian terrorists to shell the dam of another reservoir in Kryvyi Rih,” said the President.
He announced that he had shared information from Ukrainian intelligence about the Russian scenario involving the mining of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant, “which, apparently, has been approved for terrorists.”
According to him, it is necessary to take joint and specific steps to prevent any radiation incidents.
Zelensky reported that he discussed the events taking place in the aggressor state with his allies, including the attempted armed coup by the Wagner terrorist group.
The President noted that “the longer the Russian aggression lasts, the greater degradation it causes, including within Russia itself,” and one manifestation of such degradation is that “Russian aggression is gradually returning to its home harbor.”
According to him, Ukraine and its allies equally perceive the development of the situation and know how to respond to it.
