While speaking at a conference on Ukraine’s recovery in London, American billionaire and philanthropist Howard Buffett criticized its participants, state leaders, and businessmen for not providing Ukraine with everything it needs to defeat Russia while expecting Ukraine to wage the war in a way that avoids direct involvement from others.
His speech was broadcast during a telethon.
Buffett emphasized that the war being fought in Ukraine will alter the course of history, so the leaders of countries and businessmen should be ‘on the right side’ at this moment.”
“We have been helpful, but we have been slow. Sometimes we have been indecisive. We do not provide Ukrainians with everything they need to win this war. And worse, we ask Ukraine to wage this war in a way that we ourselves do not. This policy leads to the loss of lives every day,” he said.
The billionaire also addressed those who are determined by any means to prevent “escalation” of the war.
“To those concerned about the escalation of the war, I simply ask: Are you paying attention to how the geopolitical landscape is changing and has already changed? It is not in our favor. It is not in the favor of anyone sitting in this room. Do you have even the slightest idea of what our world will look like if we allow Ukraine to lose?” – said Buffett.
