President Volodymyr Zelensky stated that Ukrainian intelligence has received information that Russia is considering a terrorist attack at the Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant with a radiation release. He mentioned this in his address to the nation.
According to his words, he received a report from Ukrainian intelligence and the Security Service of Ukraine regarding the sabotage of the Kakhovka Hydroelectric Power Plant by Russians and the preparation of a terrorist act at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant.
He noted that the Security Service of Ukraine and intelligence have gathered new evidence of the sabotage of the Kakhovka dam by the occupiers. It was a deliberate and calculated crime.
Zelensky stated that Russia is using the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant as an element of its aggression and as a military base.
The head of state emphasized that intelligence has received information that Moscow is considering a scenario of a terrorist act at the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant with a radiation release.
“They have prepared everything for this. We are sharing all available information with our partners—everyone in the world. All the confirmations. Europe, America, China, Brazil, India, the Arab world, Africa—all countries, absolutely everyone should know about this. International organizations. Everyone,” he summarized.
Moscow swiftly responded to Zelensky’s statement, with Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov calling the Ukrainian leader’s warning a “lie.”
Earlier, the head of Ukrainian intelligence, Kirill Budanov, stated that Russians had planted explosives on the cooling system of the Zaporizhia Nuclear Power Plant.
