UK Defense Minister Ben Wallace announced that Ukraine has begun using long-range Storm Shadow missiles, which London has transferred to Kyiv. He made this statement during a press conference with his Norwegian colleague Bjørn A. Grønn, as reported by Sky News.
In this way, the head of the Ministry of Defense responded to the question about the use of the Storm Shadow missile by Ukrainian military.
“All I can say is that, according to my information, it (Storm Shadow) has already been used after we announced its dispatch to Ukraine,” Wallace noted.
The British minister refused to provide any details but emphasized the importance of supplying long-range capabilities to Ukraine.
He added that the provision of Storm Shadow is a ‘kind of alleviation’ for the situation where Ukraine currently cannot obtain modern fighter jets it has requested.
NOTE: The operational range of the Storm Shadow varies between 290 and 560 kilometers depending on the modification.
