Former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Boris Johnson, believes that negotiations with Russia are only possible after Ukraine’s victory in the war. He stated this during a speech at Ivan Franko Lviv National University.
According to him, many people talk about the war between Russia and Ukraine and negotiations. He emphasized that he does not exclude diplomacy, but only on the condition that Ukraine achieves victory before negotiations.
“A victory in which Vladimir Putin’s cruel, barbaric, and illegal invasion will be completely repelled, and his forces expelled from Ukraine. For me, this should be a precondition for any negotiations. I want Western countries to support precisely this,” Johnson said.
The politician stated that Britain and other allies must provide Ukraine with everything necessary for victory.
“After all, you are fighting for all of us, not just for the freedom and democracy of Ukraine, which is, of course, very important. But in addition, you are fighting for the principles of freedom worldwide, and we must thank you for that,” he concluded.
