Russia has “geopolitically lost” the war against Ukraine and is now turning into a vassal state of China. This was stated by the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, in an interview with the newspaper L’Opinion.
According to Macron, Russia has effectively ‘come under China’s control’ and has also ‘lost critically important freedom of action in the Baltic Sea’ due to the Kremlin’s actions, which prompted Sweden and Finland to decide to join NATO.
“Just two years ago, such a scenario would have been unimaginable, and today it represents a geopolitical defeat,” said the President of France.
He emphasized that “Russia should not win this war militarily” and that Europe should assist Ukrainians both in preparing a counteroffensive and in “raising the issue of security guarantees for negotiations that will inevitably take place.”
“The architecture of European security should be fully extended to Ukraine. It should also anticipate the absence of confrontation with Russia and the restoration of a stable balance of power. But we are still far from that,” Macron said.
Today, French media reported that President Volodymyr Zelensky plans to fly to Paris immediately after completing his visit to Germany.
