Zelensky: We are not attacking Russia. We don’t have time, nor the strength, nor excess weapons for it

President Volodymyr Zelensky assured that Ukraine is not attacking Russian territory and is not interested in such actions. He made this statement at a press conference in Berlin after a meeting with Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

“We are not attacking Russian territory, we are liberating our rightful lands. We are not interested in these [strikes on Russia]; we do not have the time, the resources, or the surplus of weapons for it,” said Zelensky.

The President stated that Ukraine is focused on preparing for a counteroffensive to de-occupy “our internationally recognized territory.”

The question to Zelensky is related to the publication in The Washington Post, which claimed that the President of Ukraine allegedly suggested behind closed doors to strike Russia’s territory and the “Druzhba” oil pipeline.”

With reference to the leak of Pentagon data, the newspaper wrote that at the end of February, Zelensky allegedly “expressed concern” during a meeting with General Valeriy Zaluzhny about the lack of long-range missiles in Ukraine capable of reaching Russian military bases in Russia.

At another meeting in late January, the president allegedly proposed that Ukraine “strike Russia,” deploy its ground forces to Russian territory, and “occupy unspecified Russian border cities” in order to gain leverage in negotiations.
