President Volodymyr Zelensky sees no possibility for negotiations with Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. He stated this in an interview with Italian media during his visit to Rome.
Zelensky recalled that in 2019, he sought any possible opportunities for negotiations with Putin, sincerely hoping for an end to the war.
“In 2019, when I became president, there was a lot of criticism. People didn’t want to talk to Putin, and I said, ‘But I will, I will try dialogue,'” he said.
“It was not easy to do it,” admitted Zelensky, “because Putin, sorry, acted like a princess and couldn’t find a format in which we could meet.”
Now Zelensky sees no point in talking to Putin at all.
“Who to talk to? He doesn’t want anything. It’s all a joke to him. Now, when he sees that he has become weaker, Russia is looking for ways to pacify all states so that they do not impose sanctions and do not provide us with support. He might make some diplomatic move, but after that, believe me, he will come attacking us again within a year. With him, everything is clear. He is an inadequate person,” said Zelensky.
