Minister of Defense Oleksiy Reznikov stated that he hopes for the surprise beginning of the counteroffensive. The head of the Ministry of Defense said this in an interview with RBK-Ukraine.
“I really hope that it will be unexpected for you too. Because that’s the whole point of a military operation – nobody should know that it has started. The longer the enemy doesn’t know, the higher the chances of success,” Reznikov replied to a question about how unexpected the counterattack will be.
The journalist asked if it would be evident that the counterattack started from news reports.
“Of course. Nowadays, thanks to various resources such as Deep State, which deal with OSINT, there is nothing to hide. Plus, our guys are socially and media active. “When they enter a newly liberated village, they immediately take selfies and short videos,” said the Minister of Defense.
Resnikov agreed that the expectations for the counteroffensive were “somewhat overheated.”
The Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Kyrylo Budanov, stated that Ukraine will regain temporarily occupied Crimea by combined means – military force and diplomacy.
Kuleba stated that a diplomatic solution to the war may involve returning to Ukraine’s borders as of 2013.
Resnikov stated that the success of the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ offensive will impact the “ease” of further allied assistance.”
