Chinese company Quzhou Nova has purchased copper alloy ingots worth at least $7.4 million from the Debaltsevo Metallurgical Engineering Plant, which is located in the occupied territories of the Russian Federation.

This is reported by Reuters.

“According to data from the Russian customs, the Chinese company Quzhou Nova has purchased at least 3,220 tons of copper alloy in ingots for a total amount of $7.4 million from the Debaltsevo Metallurgical Machine-Building Plant during the period from October 8, 2022 to March 24, 2023,” the report said.

The agency notes that Quzhou Nova has stated that it has no import-export operations related to the trade of copper alloy ingots.

It should be noted that the US sanctions imposed on February 21, 2022, three days before the Russian invasion of Ukraine, prohibit American imports from the so-called Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics or exports to them.

In two days, the European Union announced measures that include a ban on imports of goods from these two regions. However, China has not imposed any restrictions on trade with Russia.

The United States has threatened to blacklist companies worldwide for violating its sanctions and warned Beijing against supplying Moscow with goods prohibited by US export rules.
