The Russian occupiers stated that the building of the Russian Ministry of Defense in central Moscow caught fire due to a kettle catching fire.

Details: Emergency services in Russia have announced that the fire in the Ministry of Defense building started due to a kettle catching fire.

On the evening of April 5th, a fire broke out on the third floor of one of the buildings located on Znamyanka Street within the territory of the Ministry of Defense.

It was assigned a second, elevated level of complexity out of the five available. The open fire has been eliminated on an area of 60 square meters. The Ministry of Defense specified that an emergency fire brigade, together with the arrived employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, promptly localized the source of smoke. There were no casualties as a result of the fire.

The cause of the fire in the building of the Ministry of Defense was initially attributed to a ‘malfunction in the electrical network.’

Recall that on the evening of April 5, a fire broke out in the building of the Russian Ministry of Defense on Znamenka Street in central Moscow.

The building at 19 Znamenka Street is an old building that used to be the headquarters of the General Staff. This building already caught fire in 2016, when its roof collapsed and the fire was extinguished after nearly nine hours.
